For the purpose of the commercial as well as industrial ties between Pakistan and China a Council called "PAKISTAN-China BUSINESS COUNCIL" is established in Pakistan.
1- To endeavour to increase economic cooperation and friendship between the two countries and to prepare plans and programmes towards that object.
2- To institute necessary investigations and studies, which would help preparation of plans and programmes for cooperation in trade and industry between the two countries.
3- Preparation of programmes for economic seminars and discussions between the institutions of the two countries interested in joint industrial investment and commercial exchanges.
4- To establish arrangements for conciliation and arbitration for the settlement of differences arising from commercial and industrial transactions etc. between the institutions or individuals of the two countries.
5- Creation of an information service and compilation of relevant statistics pertaining to the commercial and industrial activities of the two countries.
6- Preparation of necessary representations for consideration by the economic authorities of the two countries
7- To help and guide businessmen of the two countries for participation in the fairs and exhibitions of the two countries.
8- To promote technical cooperation between the two countries by establishing training courses and educational scholarships to increase the skill of labour and manpower.
9- To facilitate personal contacts between the representatives of commerce and industry of the two countries.
1- There shall be a Board of Directors of nine persons including the Chairman all of whom shall be elected by the members of the Council. At least one member of the Council shall be an industrialist and at least one a trader.
2- The quorum for the meetings of the Board of Directors shall consist of nine members.
3- The Chairman shall be nominated by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry from among the members of the Board of Directors.
4- The election of the Board of Directors for the ensuing year shall be held every year in December.
5- The subscription received from the members of the Council shall be deposited in the general bank account of the Federation, but separate books of account of the Committee shall be maintained. The Council's account shall be operated by the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Pakistan-China Business Council, the Secretary General of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and a Member of the Board of Directors nominated by the Board for the purpose. Signatures of at least two of these persons shall be necessary for validity of the cheques for payment provided that one of these two persons shall be the President or the Secretary General of the Federation and the other Chairman or Member of the Board of Directors referred to.
1- To prepare the procedures and regulations of Board of Directors and of the sub-committee appointed by the Board of Directors.
2- To study reports of the Secretary and the recommendations of the Council.
3- Approval of the Budget and audited accounts of the Council.
4- To nominate sub-committees from among the members of the Council.
5- To decide about matters not foreseen in these Articles but consistent with the aims and objects as set out in Article II.
